It's been a while since we've visited the CSLIS Blog because we have been extremely busy with new and exciting things in our office! We have hired a new Campus Life Advisor who will be joining us starting in just a couple of weeks. Justin Sipes will be new to California and new to Sonoma State University; he will have many opportunities to share his knowledge of Campus Life and Leadership with our students! He is traveling from Ohio where he recentely graduated from Bowling Green State University... please join us in welcoming Justin Sipes as our newest Sonoma State Seawolf!
With Justin joining our team, we have also implemented a new online system for all of our clubs and organizations. OrgSync is a new system that our clubs can use to access one another, connect with other clubs on campus and create an online world similar to Facebook. Feel free to check out OrgSync by following this link! http://www.orgsync.com/
In the world of Greek Life, we have two new organizations joining the family: Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Sigma Phi. Phi Sigma Sigma was previously known as Omega Sigma Alpha, a local Jewish sorority at SSU. As a National Panhellenic Organization, Phi Sigma Sigma will be joining our four other Panhellenic organizations this fall. The other new organization is a national fraternity that has had a colony at Sonoma State University for the past year. Alpha Sigma Phi will be officially recognized by the university beginning this summer and will be installing their chapter in August. Congratulations to each of their members on a successful colonization process, we look forward to the great things you will bring to our campus.
By now, you are probably overwhelmed with the many great things that are happening in terms of Student Leadership and Involvement... as are we! But it is a "good overwhelmed"; with all of these amazing changes happening, we are also welcoming two new Student Assistants, JP Bettencourt and Kaitlin Marriott who will be amazing assets to our CSLIS Team.
As we get prepared for Summer Orientation to begin, we would like to congratulate the Seawolves who graduated on May 29, 2010... you will be dearly missed, but you have left a legacy that we will all remember.
GO SSU. GO SEAWOLVES.
